Tonight was the unveiling of the town’s newest fund raising project for Privateer Days - a calender, chalk full of local men (and some women!), shot in various Queen’s County locations. Oh - did I forget to mention all the men are nekkid??????? Ooops. Very important detail to leave out!!! LOL Now, while all the men are indeed naked, it was all very very tastefully done - you can’t see anything - well, maybe some butt cheeks, but mostly cute cheeks! lol And the models ranged from my good friend Andy, to most of the doctors in town, a father/son duo, one former MLA, a business man or two, and an awesome Nova Scotian band called Faded Blue - omg it’s awesome!!! LOL There was even a guy who did some serious bidding on Ebay and WON a spot in the calender for a mere $500!!!!! (he was rather hot too! lol)

The reveal tonight was at the Astor theater where there was a cocktail hour from 7-8pm, then the unveiling took place, with each model being introduced and their photo shown on the big screen. Once that was done, we were able to go buy the calenders, then stalk all the participants to have them sign the calender LOL. Around 9pm Faded Blue took the stage, but Tracy and I had left then. I came home and took a much needed bath - man it was so hot there! I changed into clean clothes and was headed to Tim Horton’s for a coffee when I took a drive back up around the theater - I could hear the music blaring, noticed the rest of my group was still there, so headed back in for the last 45 mins or so! lol it was so loud tho - man my ears are still ringing!!!! I finally headed for my coffee at around 11pm! LOL

Kudos to the calender team for all their hard work! It was well worth the efforts I can assure you - and guess what??? you can buy the calender online too - imagine that!! It’s worth it people, trust me!!

The day started off nice and sunny, and now it’s warm. Really really warm! Nothing happening in town today, or at least nothing worth leaving my house for LOL The big celebration is this weekend, with our annual Privateer Days. So far today I got to sleep in until 9am (yay! not!) got up around 10, went for a coffee and a drive with the a/c blasting, came home and went back to bed to be lazy for awhile, then up, dusted, vacuumed, did the dishes, now I’m sitting here with sweat dripping everywhere and in need of a nice cool shower LOL

Last night I ended up with some friends, sitting on their back deck, enjoying a cold beer, and staring at their new very very nice pool wishing I woulda brought my bathing suit. Or wishing they would have all disappeared inside so I coulda stripped and jumped in LOLOL I’m hoping to do that later ROFL!

It’s been a long week since Megan’s birthday!! Wednesday night we had company arrive - Papa was here until yesterday along with my brother-in-law Peter, his darling wife Julie, Julie’s Mom Linda AND my new niece Jessie!!!! She was the most important guest LOL! We had so much fun smoooooooching on her! She’s adorable!! Papa stayed here with us, everyone camped out over at Lane’s, but we still got to see Jessie plenty

Thursday afternoon Alyssa graduated from Junior high - I’m so proud of her! My pictures unfortunately suck, but I do have a couple! I’m now the mother of a high schooler It was one of those rare times that I really missed Pat - he would have been so proud of his little girl. And Miss Megan graded as well, she got her report card on Friday - all A’s and B’s She will be in Grade 4 in September.

Last night I went and visited a bit with friend Janie and Pat, sitting out and enjoying their new deck and gossiping - no one stayed too long - it was kinda cool and I was tired - hopefully next time we can make a proper party out of it lol

Weather here has been weird - one day it’s so hot you can’t move, and then today?? Cold and rainy! Blah! I had an early morning phone call that woke me up at 8:30am *grumble grumble* LOL I stayed in bed until 10, all comfy and cosy, then got up, went for a coffee and drive in the rain, came home and cleaned a bit, and now I’m just waiting to go do some puppy sitting (which was the reason for the 8:30am phone call) - well not really sitting, just feed her, force her out in the rain for a pee and maybe play molly maid for a bit LOL Then I’ll head back home and finish cleaning here, do some laundry and then I think I’ll curl up in bed and watch a movie or two - it’s that kinda day today!

Megan had a very nice birthday today - even though she had to spend it in school! lol Oh well, it was her last day other then going for her report card this coming Friday

When she got home there was a nice bouquet of flowers waiting for her from me, and a stack of presents from me and Alyssa, and just in time - her birthday card from Nana and Grandpa!! We headed straight to town so she could spend her birthday money cuz you know, god forbid my kids actually SAVE their money! LOL came home and made her her birthday supper, and then my friend Amy arrived for a visit - I think she was here for 3 1/2 hours and we drank our way through 2 pots of coffee!!! LOL It was awesome!

Now I’m sitting here thinking about going to bed, but it’s nice to know I don’t really have to - I can sleep in from now on! yay! LOL

so I was wrong. Oops??? LOL Her ears were actually clear - as in no wax build up and NO foreign objects such as q-tip left overs LOL she DOES have a slight ear infection and is now on antibiotic drops for the next week. Ooops again LOL

And I have to say - I was pretty bummed when our long time Doctor retired June 1st - he had been my Dr since I was about 12 I think and was with me all through our fertility problems, delivered both girls, was an amazing help during Mom’s cancer and Pat’s - BUT - his replacement???

Middle of the week already - where the heck do the days go for pete’s sake??? I’m just sitting here waiting for Alyssa to get home from her exam of the day (math today, science and social studies are done and over with, just one more to go, english then we can say buh bye to Junior High!) - once she gets home we get to go meet our new Doctor as she has a sore ear. I’m pretty positive it’s NOT infected - she’s got cotton off a q-tip stuck down there, I know it! Because this wont be the first time she’s done it. You know, at 15 yrs old you’d think she’d know better!! LOL Oh well, we’ll see in about an hour.

Yucky yucky weather the last couple days - yesterday was cold and wet, last night there was a HUGE albeit short thunder and lightening storm - huge as in it was LOUD - the freaking house was shaking lol and the lightning was sooooo bright! But it didn’t last long - bummer! I love a good storm!! And thankfully the girls slept through it! And today it’s still wet - but not quite so cold.

Today I plan on turning this house upside down for the USB cable that goes to my Ipod - I can’t find the stupid thing - haven’t actually seen it for a couple months lol but I know it’s here somewhere

Since I know my Dad reads here - Happy Father’s Day!!!!! Your card IS in the mail - it’s gonna be late, but hey, at least I remembered to send one this year?????? And Happy Father’s Day to the best father-in-law ever!!! Hope you’re reading here too Earl!!

Was a nice weekend, the weather was awesome, Megan spent the afternoon yesterday at a birthday party, I spent last night at Crystal’s at a candle party, then popped in to visit with Anthony at the bar for a bit, and was home around 11:30ish I think. Got to sleep in today which was nice, and had a surprise visit this afternoon when Tracy arrived with her mom Florence and my newly turned 22 yr old nephew Braden! Haven’t seen him in months!! By the time they left it was too late to cook (oh darn) so I ordered pizza instead lol

Got the house all cleaned after that, the girls settled for the night, went for a quick coffee run and a drive, now I’m just farting around for a bit until it’s time to take the dogs out one last time then I’m taking my butt to bed!

after damn near roasting yesterday in the bowels of hell with the heat (lol) what was today like?????

almost had to put the freaking furnace on!! omg! it was COLD! really really cold! What odd weather!

and to top today off nicely Alyssa ended up coming home this morning from school, not feeling well. At first I honestly wondered if maybe she was just trying to get out of school for some reason or other, but no…she spent the day popping Gravol to keep her stomach settled, Tylenol to try and keep the fever down, and honestly? I saw her out of bed I think 3 times. She has slept pretty much all day, and went back to bed for the night at 9:30pm. This is not the best time to be sick - she only has 3 full days of school left and exams start on Monday. UGH!! She’s not the only kid out sick either - her friend Nick was home today with a cold (poor Mooch!) and Val said Josh wasn’t feeling well either *sigh* Going to be an interesting couple days trying to get them all ready for their exams. blah!!!

it is HOT. Very very HOT. As in sweltering, sweat dripping down the boobs, can’t get the water cold enough in the shower HOT. And my air conditioner doesn’t fit these windows in this house.

OMG LOL it’s been a long day! the upstairs is an oven and lord knows how we are going to sleep tonight *sigh* Those new windows can’t get put in soon enough! I spent much of the day in the car, a/c blasting LOL But who can afford that with the price of gas???? ugh! It’s going to be a LONG assed summer I think!

Took the girls shopping this afternoon - one of our stores is going out of business so I scored a pretty good deal on shoes for them - they each got new flip flops, new sneakers and Megan needed a new pair of dogz - now to make sure they have enough summer clothes and they’ll be set until Fall - which can’t get here soon enough!! LOL
